Unrealistic Progressive Promises

Progressive policy proposals such as Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, free college education, universal basic income, and more would cost between $47.8 trillion and $92.4 trillion over the next decade. In contrast, taxing 100% of corporate income, and all personal income over $200,000, would yield $34.6 trillion in revenue- and progressive tax proposals aimed at high-income earners are not even that aggressive. As a result, significant middle-class tax increases would be needed to pay for the programs.
